Monstera Adansonii

Plant Story

Grows naturally as a vining understory plant in tropical forests of Central and South America. Fun fact: As an outdoor landscape plant, Monstera produces a delicious, edible fruit! The fruit must be completely ripe before consumed. If you happen upon a fruiting plant, do some research before consuming as unripe fruit contains toxins. A properly ripened fruit is said to taste like a mix of pineapple and banana!

Medium to bright light levels. Does well in an office setting where it can receive 8 or more full hours of artificial light.

Likes consistent, but not oversaturated soil. Add water when the top two inches of soil feel dry.

Maintain between 65-90F. Below 60F will harm the plant.

Apply a balanced houseplant fertilizer at 1/2 strength no more than once per month during the warm growing months.
